Faces, Footfall & Fairs: What did we learn from Top Drawer?

14 September 2016 23:10

Earlier this week, KhooSeller Creative Director and Managing Director attended the London based lifestyle show, Top Drawer. With hundreds of home, gift, fashion and craft businesses, Olympia was buzzing with creative talent and new products.

However, in a world that is increasingly digital, what can we learn from the interactive nature of trade shows?

Faces: The importance of connecting with the face behind a brand

KhooSeller support many homeware brands online and were delighted to see Keith Brymer Jones and MAKE International exhibiting.

Keith is known for his role on BBC2's Great British Pottery Throwdown and is certainly a character. However, seeing Keith throw clay in real life is an experience in itself. Within seconds a vase, mug, or bowl was sculpted, whilst Keith nattered about the temperature, feel and care that would go into the porceline pottery.

Meeting the face behind a brand certainly builds a connection and it's important to have this for any long term relationship.

Throughout the day, we met many brand owners and distributors and enjoyed hearing the story behind their brand.

Footfall: Getting your product into the hands of your consumers & resellers

Fairs: How can you create that same interaction online?
